REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MALANG -- Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf aka Gus Irfan reminded his entire staff to jointly prevent the risk of leaks to Hajj funds. He doesn't want there to be any cases of money theft during his leadership.

“I strongly recommend the team at the Hajj Ministry so that there should be no leaks,” said Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, who was familiar with Gus Irfan when he met after the graduation procession at the Islamic State University (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Malang City, East Java, Saturday (4/10/2025).

According to him, everyone in the Hajj Ministry has the same responsibility in ensuring the allocation of Hajj funds to be on target. “Therefore, the precautionary aspect needs to be emphasized and instilled so that the issue does not arise,” said Gus Irfan.

He said that the occurrence of leakage of funds can cause great harm to the community or, in this case, the pilgrims of the Hajj candidates. “One percent is incredible, one percent Rp 200 billion. It is all a people's fund, a people's fund that must be held accountable in the world and in the afterlife,” said GusIrfan.

Regarding the anticipation efforts, it has coordinated with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to help monitor and accompany the implementation of Hajj worship so that it is free from all forms of misconduct. Coordination with the KPK also includes checking and tracking the track record of every person who has or will serve in the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

“We will include a large number of personnel from other ministries and those who have entered will be tracked by the KPK to ensure there are no problems later in the day,” Gus Irfan said.
