Each week, Eric Karabell ranks players by position based on their fantasy football value for the rest of the 2025 season. Use the information to optimize the players for their future potential and/or to gauge their value in trade. Eric's top 100 can be found below the positions in this column.

Quarterback

Rankings changes: Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow (toe), the No. 3 QB scorer last season and the No. 5 QB in ESPN ADP this season, is now out until December. Perhaps he returns to the lineup before the fantasy playoffs, but this is hardly a guarantee. Burrow leaves these rankings, with backup Jake Browning earning a spot ahead of several other starting quarterbacks. Browning played competently over a seven-game stint in 2023, and he certainly has receivers to target. He may even rise on this list in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, there is more movement at this position entering Week 3, with Indianapolis Colts surprise Daniel Jones forcing himself into QB1 range, while Dallas Cowboys starter Dak Prescott and Detroit Lions starter Jared Goff moving closer to that territory after their Sunday performances. The fact is that the top tier lost Burrow and there are four others typically regarded as "the next tier" -- clearly safe top-100 overall selections. Then there is flux. Jones enters said flux, with injured (short-term) San Francisco 49ers starter Brock Purdy leaving the top 10, and disappointing Chicago Bears starter Caleb Williams moving further away from QB1 range.

Should Javonte Williams be viewed as a lineup lock, top-10 RB?

Daniel Dopp, Field Yates and Stephania Bell debate whether Javonte Williams is a lineup lock and a top-10 fantasy running back.

Rankings changes: The big injury at this position involves Washington Commanders pass-catcher Austin Ekeler (Achilles), who is done for the season. This should be good news for rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt, but the Commanders may continue with a committee approach. Otherwise, there is little movement among top running backs. Do not panic with Baltimore Ravens star Derrick Henry or Las Vegas Raiders rookie Ashton Jeanty, though they fall a bit here. All will be well. Seattle Seahawks star Kenneth Walker III and surprising Cowboys newcomer Javonte Williams join the RB2 options.

Things are not as rosy with New England Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson, Minnesota Vikings veteran Aaron Jones Sr., Denver Broncos rookie RJ Harvey and New York Giants sophomore Tyrone Tracy Jr.. Rhamondre Stevenson improbably looks like the top Patriots option again. Jones has a hamstring injury, which is good news for Jordan Mason. Veteran J.K. Dobbins looks like the top Denver choice. Giants rookie Cam Skattebo didn't need long to overtake Tracy for touches.

Should fantasy managers rank Odunze ahead of Moore?

Eric Karabell breaks down Rome Odunze's nice start to the season and whether fantasy managers should consider him over DJ Moore.

Rankings changes: Four wide receivers surpassed 30 PPR points in Week 2. The first three are among the top options in the sport (Amon-Ra St. Brown, Malik Nabers, Ja'Marr Chase). Then it is Bears sophomore Rome Odunze. He looks like the top Bears WR, edging past DJ Moore. There are several changes in the top 10, with Los Angeles Rams newcomer Davante Adams, Seahawks star Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Ravens star Zay Flowers pushing in. Jacksonville Jaguars star Brian Thomas Jr., Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown and Atlanta Falcons star Drake London need to produce more. They likely will.

We are not panicking on Moore, Commanders star Terry McLaurin and Tennessee Titans star Calvin Ridley, but they fall a bit in the rankings, along with Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter and Green Bay Packers rookie Matthew Golden. Ravens veteran DeAndre Hopkins, Broncos rookie Troy Franklin and Titans rookie Elic Ayomanor enter the rankings. Injured Packers starter Jayden Reed (collarbone) leaves the rankings.

Dopp: Jake Ferguson is a top-10 fantasy TE in Week 3

Daniel Dopp considers Jake Ferguson a top-10 fantasy TE in Week 3 against the Bears.

Rankings changes: There is substantial movement at tight end, as Vikings starter T.J. Hockenson, Broncos starter Evan Engram and Ravens starter Mark Andrews combined for 5.8 PPR points in Week 2. Hockenson remains in the top 10, albeit barely, as Packers emerger Tucker Kraft and New Orleans Saints veteran Juwan Johnson force their way into TE1 territory. 49ers star George Kittle (hamstring) will miss three more games, at least.
