The Champions League holders face the Europa Conference League winners but PSG are favourites to lift the unique trophy. The Parisians have been formidable on their way to the final, thrashing Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-final to cement their billing as the best team in the world.

Chelsea’s route to the final has been more straightforward than their opponents but it represents another achievement in an impressive debut campaign for Enzo Maresca. The revamped Club World Cup has drawn plenty of criticism but there’s been some thrilling encounters with the spotlight firmly on the passionate South American clubs and supporters. Ahead of the final, we’ve analysed the Chelsea and PSG squads to formulate the most valuable combined XI.

Chelsea vs PSG most valuable combined XI

Eight PSG stars make the combined XI with only three Chelsea players represented, but Cole Palmer is the most valuable star at €120 million - the combined market value of the XI is €870m. PSG’s lethal front three of Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia occupy the three attacking spots in the 4-3–3- formation with the trio all upgraded to €90m in the most recent Ligue 1 update.

As the graphic above illustrates, Palmer is joined by Chelsea teammate Moisés Caicedo and João Neves in midfield. Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi are widely recognised as the two best full-backs in the world and they have a combined market value of €150m. Levi Colwill forms a centre-back partnership with Pacho and PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma is the goalkeeper.
