Désiré Doué was unquestionably one of last season's rising stars and has now been named the 2025 Golden Boy by Tuttosport. The 20-year-old Paris Saint-Germain star follows in the footsteps of Lamine Yamal, who won the coveted trophy last year. The award ceremony will take place on December 1 at the Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile in Turin. The Golden Boy award has been presented since 2003 and has had numerous notable winners, including Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi. At the end of each season, Tuttosport publishes a list of 100 professionals under the age of 21, which is shortened to 25 in October. Among them, 50 selected journalists choose the winner.

Doué, who beat young talents like Pau Cubarsí of Barcelona and Kenan Yıldız of Juventus, moved from Stade Rennes to PSG in the summer of 2024 for €50 million. In addition to the domestic double of league and cup, the versatile attacking player also won the Champions League. His outstanding performance in the 5-0 win against Inter Milan in the final in Munich saw him be awarded as the man of the match with two goals and an assist. In total, he scored or assisted 32 goals in 61 games last season, as his market value rose from €30 million to €90 million.

"The Golden Boy is about dreams. For footballers under the age of 21, dreams are the fuel that drives their ambitions. Many winners since 2003 have gone on to win World Cups and Champions League titles – it's the first big step on the road to greatness," said Guido Vaciago, director of Tuttosport. "This year's winner, Désiré Doué, has already made history with two goals in the Champions League final. He represents a generation of exceptional talents who will dominate the next decade."
