Arsenal and Manchester City has morphed into somewhat of a thriller in recent years. Pep Guardiola vs Mikel Arteta. Master vs apprentice. Their two teams battled for the title in both the 2022/23 and 2023/24 campaigns, before Liverpool leapfrogged them both last term. Last season's encounter at The Etihad had it all. Four goals. A red card. A last minute equaliser. Erling Haaland was central to the drama. Coming to blows with Gabriel Jesus, telling Arteta to 'stay humble', throwing the ball at the back of Gabriel's head, asking youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly 'who are you?'. It was chaos in the dying moments.

Six months later, the sides met at The Emirates and the Gunners ran out 5-1 victors. Lewis-Skelly replicated Haaland's celebration after scoring his first senior career goal. Luckily for Premier League fans, the two sides meet again this Sunday in north London. It could be another mouth-watering tie, with plenty of stardust on show, plus inevitably a bit of needle between the teams. But who are the most valuable players for each side? We have compiled the most valuable combined XI from Arsenal and Man City using Transfermarkt's renowned market values.

Arsenal and Man City most valuable combined XI

In between the sticks is new Man City recruit Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has a market value of €40 million. Arsenal's David Raya is also worth €40m but is older than the Italian so misses out. At right-back is the Gunners' Jurriën Timber (€55m). Arsenal also occupy both of the centre-back positions, with Gabriel (€75m) and William Saliba (€80m) the base of the defence. At left-back is the Sky Blues' Josko Gvardiol (€75m).

In central midfield it's the fearsome duo of Arsenal's Declan Rice, worth €120m, and Man City's Ballon d'Or winning Rodri (€110m). Just in front of that pair is Gunners skipper Martin Ødegaard, who has a current market value of €85m. Phil Foden (€100m) lines up on the left-wing, although could be in danger of his market value dropping in the next Premier League market value updated on October 17. Bukayo Saka (€150m) take the right-wing birth, whilsty Erling Haaland (€180m), the most valuable player in the entire XI, leads the line. The XI boasts a combined market value of €1.07 billion.
