REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian Railways (PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI) conveyed that the entire long-distance train journey has operated normally without cancellation on Thursday (30/4/2026). Vice President Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba said that the service recovery process was ongoing and showed positive developments.

“During the operational adjustment period, rail travel may still experience slight delays,” Anne said in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday (30/4/2026).

KAI, Anne continued, continued to make gradual operational arrangements by prioritizing aspects of safety and smooth travel. He said KAI continues to ensure that the service can again run properly while fulfilling the rights of customers.

“We apologise for any inconvenience that customers have felt. In this recovery process, we ask for understanding if the trip is still delayed. KAI continues to strive to make the service run smoothly again and the customer's rights are still fulfilled,” added Anne.

In line with the handling process in the field, KAI also conveyed the development of handling customers' luggage left behind. Until April 30, 2026 at 08.30 pm, Anne said that 85 items were found.

“Of these, 38 items have been handed over to the owner, while another 47 are still in the process of being handed over,” Anne said.

Anne said the items found by the evacuation officers on the Commuter Line No. 5568A had been handed over to the Passenger Service officer at East Bekasi Station for registration and safekeeping. He appealed to users, families, or relatives who feel they have lost their items to come directly to East Bekasi Station and contact Lost and Found service for retrieval.

“KAI ensures every stage of recovery is carried out in a careful and measured manner so that rail travel can run safely,” Anne said.
