Kylian Mbappé's long drawn out transfer saga was finally concluded last summer, as he swapped Paris Saint-Germain for Spanish giants Real Madrid on a free transfer. His first campaign with Los Blancos didn't exactly go to plan, with the club trophy-less, beaten by El Clásico rivals Barcelona in LaLiga and the Copa Del Rey, and dumped out of the Champions League in the quarter-finals by Arsenal. Mbappé took a large proportion of the flak for that, with plenty of criticism aimed towards the French forward, but individually, he has actually posted some incredible numbers during his time in Spain.

The 26-year-old continued his fast start to the new season with a brace in Madrid's 3-0 win at Real Oviedo on Sunday. That means that Mbappé now leads a stat that may surprise few. The Frenchman has scored the most goals for any top-five league club in all competitions since the start of last season - when he came to the Santiago Bernabéu. So how far is Mbappé ahead? And which other forwards feature in the top 10? Let's find out.

Top scorers for top-5 league clubs since start of last season

Mbappé takes first place, having now scored 47 goals in 61 matches for Real Madrid in all competitions since making the switch to the Bernabéu. He has overtaken second-placed Harry Kane, who has scored 45 goals in 53 games for Bayern Munich in that same timeframe. In third position is Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski - the Polish forward has scored 42 goals in 53 matches for the Catalan club since the beginning of the 2024/25 season. In fourth is Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy - who moved clubs the same summer as Mbappé - with 40 goals in 52 games. Erling Haaland completes the top five with 36 goals in 50 matches for Manchester City.

In sixth place is Liverpool's Egyptian king Mohamed Salah - he has scored 35 goals in 55 games for Liverpool since the start of the last campaign. In seventh is Champions League winner Ousmane Dembélé, who has 35 goals in 56 matches for PSG. Raphinha takes eighth with 35 goals in 59 games for Barcelona. Atlético Madrid's Julián Alvarez is ninth with 30 goals in 59 matches, whilst Bayer Leverkusen's Patrick Schick completes the top 10, with 28 goals in 47 games.
