Hundreds of students in Kadungora District, Garut Regency allegedly suffered mass poisoning after consuming free nutritious food (MBG) on Tuesday (16/9/2025) yesterday. It was recorded that until Wednesday (17/9/2025) night there were 194 students affected.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The government provided a special response to cases of free nutritious meals (MBG) poisoning in a number of areas. Minister of State (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi went through the steps of recovering victims up to a kitchen evaluation of a series of food poisoning cases in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program in several regions.

Prasetyo, during a press conference in the press room of the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday, also apologized for the accidental incident.

“On behalf of the government and on behalf of the National Nutrition Agency, we apologize for the fact that there have been several cases in a number of areas. It was not something that was expected, let alone intentional,” he said.

He said the government was making a series of efforts to respond to the incident. To all affected beneficiaries, Prasetyo said, BGN in cooperation with the local authorities has provided prompt and best handling.

The government also directly coordinates with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and local governments to conduct a thorough evaluation.

“This is certainly a record and evaluation material. Mitigation and remediation efforts are also being made so that this problem does not recur,” he said.

As a remedial step, BGN is also trying to tackle this case by targeting 'zero incidents', one of them by repairing from the kitchen of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).
