Finding a top goalscorer can be one of the toughest jobs in football, and those who do regularly find the back of the net for their club are usually idolised. But which player tops the ranking for every Premier League club? At Transfermarkt, we have calculated the greatest Premier League goalscorer for all of the 20 clubs set to ply their trade in the English top-flight next season. Some club legends crop up on the list, and a few names that may also generate some surprise. Five of the players are still with their clubs and could yet add further goals to their tallies, whilst some other current stars are chasing down their club's record Premier League scorer.
The top Premier League goalscorer at every current club
We will start with the player who has the most goals at a single club in Premier League history and therefore naturally leads the way for his team. Harry Kane is Tottenham's all-time top scorer in the English top-flight, with 201 goals in 305 games for Spurs. The Englishman is way ahead of Heung-Min Son in second (127 goals) and is only 59 goals short of the overall Premier League goalscoring record of 260. Leading the way for Manchester City is club legend Sergio Agüero - the Argentinian bagged 184 goals in 275 games for the Sky Blues. Up next is the first player still in action for his club - Liverpool's all-time top Premier League scorer is Mohamed Salah with 170 goals in 277 games. The Egyptian is sure to add to that tally for the Reds. Manchester United's all-time top Premier League scorer is Wayne Rooney, who scored 183 goals in 393 games for the Red Devils.
Top spot for Arsenal goes to the great Thierry Henry who scored 175 goals in 258 matches for the Gunners. Newcastle's top scorer is Alan Shearer, who scored 148 goals in 303 matches for his boyhood club. For Chelsea, it's Frank Lampard - the first midfielder on the list - with 147 goals in 429 matches for the Blues. Last May, Ollie Watkins became the all-time top Premier League scorer at Aston Villa as he scored his 75th goal against Bournemouth to overtake Gabriel Agbonlahor (74). Romelu Lukaku leads the way for Everton, with 68 goals in 141 matches. For West Ham, it's Michail Antonio, with 68 goals in 268 games, while for Crystal Palace, Wilfried Zaha leads with 68 goals in 291 matches.
Newly-promoted Sunderland's all-time top Premier League scorer is Kevin Phillips with 61 goals in 139 games, whilst for Leeds United it's Mark Viduka with 59 scored in 130 matches. Clint Dempsey is top for Fulham, with 50 goals in 189 games, while for Burnley, it's Kiwi striker Chris Wood with 49 goals scored in 144 matches. For Bournemouth, Joshua King leads with 48 goals in 161 matches. For Brentford, leading the charts is Yoane Wissa, who has 45 goals in 137 Premier League games for the Bees. The top scorer for Wolves is Mexican Raul Jiménez, with 40 goals in 131 matches. Wood is back again as the leading scorer for Nottingham Forest with 35 goals in 74 matches, whilst Danny Welbeck completes the list as Brighton's top scorer with 33 goals in 139 games.
