Yildiz overtakes Güler: Most valuable Turkish footballers in history

Türkiye will be determined to reach the World Cup in 2026 and their prospects will rely heavily on the shoulders of two exceptional young talents - Arda Güler and Kenan Yildiz. While Yildiz failed to provide a goal contribution at Euro 2024, Guler showcased his incredible potential by scoring a stunning goal in the opening game before two further assists. Yildiz’s development at Juventus has been on an upward trajectory across the last two seasons and his excellent start to this campaign has resulted in him becoming the most valuable Turkish player in history.

The most valuable Turkish players in history

In the latest Serie A market value update, Yildiz received a €25 million upgrade to his new valuation of €75m. The 20-year-old has two goals and four assists in eight appearances this season and he’s become the fulcrum of Juventus’ attack under Igor Tudor. Since the start of last season, Yildiz’s market value has soared by €45m and he’s now the most valuable Turkish player in history. As the graphic below illustrates, Yildiz has overtaken his international colleague Güler to gain that accolade.

Güler was only installed as the most valuable Turkish player ever last week when the LaLiga market value update was released. The 20-year-old received a €15m upgrade for an impressive start of the season with Real Madrid after nailing down a starting berth under Xabi Alonso. Güler has scored three goals and provided four assists for Los Blancos with the aforementioned duo the figureheads of the Turkish national team.
