After the updates in Spain and England, the Bundesliga in Germany becomes the third of the big five leagues to receive new market values. Overall, 175 Bundesliga players received new market values, and there is a change at the very top: Michael Olise is now the most valuable player in Germany. The Bayern Munich winger saw his market value increase by €10 million to €140m.

All new market values at a glance

“With the upgrade, Olise makes another step towards the world elite and is now the sole most valuable player in the Bundesliga,” Transfermarkt market value coordinator Tobias Kröger said. “He continues to put a stamp on the game and thanks to his incredible performances, continues to be one of the most productive players in Europe.” Olise has scored an incredible 15 goals and 27 assists in 38 games across all competitions for Bayern this season. “Among right-wingers, only Lamine Yamal (€200m) is now more valuable than Olise.”

While Olise continues to rise up the standings, his teammate and friend, Jamal Musiala, suffers the second market value downgrade in a row. After a €10m drop from €140m to €130m in December, Musiala drops another €10m this time to €120m. “You have to take the whole picture into account when it comes to Musiala,” Kröger said. “He wasn’t in top form even before he suffered his serious injury at the Club World Cup. Now, after his comeback, he is still looking to fully regain his form and, as a result, his market value had to be slightly adjusted.”

Bayern Munich market values: Davies down – Pavlović among the big winners

Among the downgrades at Bayern were also Nicolas Jackson (-€5m to €40m) and Alphonso Davies (-€5m to €45m). In Jackson’s case, the tendency is now clear on loan from Chelsea, Bayern will certainly send the player back to the North London club. As for Davies, the Canadian men’s national team left-back, like Musiala, is still struggling to regain his form after a long injury break.

“Davies has become a major concern for Bayern,” Kröger said. “After coming back from his ACL tear, he struggled with further injuries that have made it impossible for him to regain the sort of form necessary to stay competitive in what is the most crucial part of the season.” The next few months will be crucial for Davies, signed to one of the richest contract extensions in club history. The left-back is now in a race to get fit for this summer’s World Cup.

If fit, his teammate Aleksandar Pavlović is not only heading to the World Cup but will be one of Germany’s most important players. “He has developed into one of Bayern’s biggest players, pushing away the competition to become the crucial player in central midfield,” Kröger said. “Physically, tactically, and technically, Pavlović is a top player in all those categories and always plays at the highest level.” As a result, his market value has increased by €10m, from €65m to €75m. Other Bayern players with market value increases include Josip Stanišić (+€3m to €35m) and goalkeeper Jonas Urbig (+€3m to €15m).

Bundesliga market value updates: +€30m for Diomande – Tottenham loanee Vusković hits €60m

The player with the biggest increase in overall market value goes to RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande. “Diomande is set to become the hottest prospect on the summer transfer market,” Kröger said. “His speed, combined with his ball control and ability in one-on-one situation is a rarity. The winger made another significant step forward in his development over the last few weeks.” Diomande has scored 11 goals and seven assists in 28 games across all competitions this season. Impressive numbers for a teenager. “Without a doubt, he is among the biggest attacking talents in world football and if he continues on this path could make a step towards €100m ahead of the World Cup.”

Another massive talent is Hamburger SV defender Luka Vusković. “He is an exceptional talent and is already on the radar of every big club on the planet,” Kröger said about the Tottenham loanee whose market value increased by 50% from €40m to €60m. “The 19-year-old is one of the most prolific goalscorers among Europe’s center-backs and has the ability to dominate games with his mature play and physical presence. He is also on a very high technical level and has taken a leadership role in Hamburg. Those attributes could make him one of the most dominant defenders in the game over the coming years.” Whether that will be at Tottenham remains to be seen. Vusković is wanted by some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Bayern Munich.

Another young defender to watch is Noahkai Banks. The FC Augsburg defender is eligible to represent both the United States and Germany. But the Hawaii-born defender is currently leaning towards representing the German Football Federation (DFB). That would be a significant loss for US Soccer. “Banks has been playing very well for Augsburg,” Kröger said. “The discussions about which national team he is going to represent have not impacted his performances; the 19-year-old is one of Augsburg’s most important players.” As a result, Banks saw his market value increase by 46.7% from €15m to €22m. That would make him the second most valuable US-eligible center-back and the sixth most valuable German center-back.

Bundesliga market value updates: Ups and downs at Dortmund – Two Leverkusen talents stand out

At Bayer Leverkusen, two talents hit the €40m. Ibrahim Maza saw his market value increase by €15m from €25m to €40, and Christian Kofane jumped from €22m to €18m. “After a slow start to the season, Maza has become one of Leverkusen’s most important players,” Kröger said. “He is improving from game to game.” The same can be said about Kofane. “Kofane is also the sort of striker that is in high demand on the market,” Kröger said. “He is very robust and fast, abilities that stress defensive lines. While his goalscoring numbers aren’t outstanding, his playing style creates room for opponents and has made him a hot prospect on the transfer market.”

Meanwhile, at Borussia Dortmund, there have been both good news and bad news. Midfielder Felix Nmecha (+€5m to €50m) and forward Maximilian Beier (+€10m to €40m). “Nmecha has become Dortmund’s most central player,” Kröger said. “He combines great technical ability with a dynamic and physical play, which has elevated him to the German national team. On top of that, he has just signed a new long-term deal. What about Beier? “He has consistently scored in 2026, especially in the Bundesliga,” Kröger said. Then there is Karim Adeyemi, whose market value dropped by €10m to €50m. “He polarises,” Kröger said. “After a strong start to the season, he has struggled and is now mostly starting from the bench.”

Finally, at VfB Stuttgart, Jamie Leweling has become one of the most exciting players in the Bundesliga. “He has made another big step forward in his career and is now one of Stuttgart’s most important players,” Kröger said. “His tempo, qualities in one against one situations, and directness in the attack have made him interesting for Premier League clubs. Bournemouth were linked to him last winter.” The way he has been playing, Leweling’s ambitions might soon be far greater than joining a middling Premier League club.

How Transfermarkt market values work

The Transfermarkt market values are calculated, taking into account various pricing models. A major factor is the Transfermarkt community, whose members discuss and evaluate player market values in detail. In general, the Transfermarkt market values are not to be equated with transfer fees.

The goal is not to predict a price but an expected value of a player in a free market. Both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant in determining market values. Examples of this are listed below. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (you can find the detailed market value definition here).
