After a wretched run of form in the Premier League, Aston Villa got back to winning ways in the Europa League this Thursday, after a 1-0 win at Lille thanks to a superb Ollie Watkins goal. Manager Unai Emery is renowned for delivering in this competition - no manager has won it more than his four triumphs. However, this night also represented a special personal milestone for the Spaniard, as he celebrated his 100th win as Aston Villa manager.

HIs first came all the way back in November 2022, when his Villa side beat Erik ten Hag's Manchester United 3-1 at Villa Park. Since then, the job Emery has done at the Midlands side has been nothing short of sensational. He has taken them to a Champions League quarter-final, A Europa League semi-final, and is on course to get them back into Europe's elite competition next season; Villa are currently fourth in the Premier League. But in the last four years, how does Emery's record compare to other Premier League bosses? Only two managers have had more wins.

Unai Emery hits 100 wins for Villa - but who has more?

The manager with most wins for a Premier League club in all competitions since Emery arrived at Villa Park won't come as much of a surprise. The legendary Pep Guardiola has won 139 of his 207 games in charge of Manchester City since November 6, 2022 - 39 ahead of Emery. In second place is perhaps also not a huge shock. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has won 120 of his 188 games in that timeframe.

It speaks wonders of the job Emery has done, that the only two managers ahead of him are one of the greatest managers the game has ever seen and one that is still feasibly on to win the quadruple this March. It also even further enhances Emery's reputation when you consider the difference in budget he has had to work with compared the aforementioned duo. The only other boss who can get near to Emery is Englishman Eddie Howe, who has managed 93 wins with Newcastle in that period.
