However, this weekend a big name appeared that was associated with the Indonesian national team. He is Louis van Gaal.
Reports from Netherlands' Instagram account 433 say the 74-year-old veteran coach will hold a press conference next week on a major announcement.
There has been speculation that it has to do with his chances of becoming the new coach of the Indonesian national team.
German journalist Victor Catalina tweeted “Welcome Louis van Gaal 🇮🇩” on his X account, reinforcing the claim.
The tweet was in response to news that Van Gaal will hold an important press conference on Monday (20/10/2025) tomorrow.
But a few moments later, he straightened out the intent of the viral tweet. “I don't know if he will take over Indonesia. That's an idea I think is appropriate, because they (PSSI) have just dismissed Patrick Kluivert and focused on the Dutch players and coaches. We'll just see on Monday what Louis van Gaal will reveal,” Catalina wrote.
Although new to rumors, the uploads from the Dutch 433 account were met by Indonesian netizens. Some refused, but few welcomed it.
Van Gaal has had success with Ajax and Barcelona. He served as the Dutch national team coach in three different periods. Van Gaal has also dealt with Manchester United despite being tipped for failure.
