The English Premier League market value update has been released and numerous major players have seen their valuations adjusted. The overall value of the division dropped by €237m but it remains the most valuable league in the world at €12.53 billion. In total, 543 stars received new market values and the headline news was Erling Haaland’s value increasing to €200m.
The 25-year-old has endured a prolific start to the season with Manchester City and he’s now the joint most valuable player in the world, alongside Lamine Yamal. Elsewhere, Chelsea wonderkid Estêvão received a €20m upgrade and William Saliba became the most valuable defender in the world at €90m. It wasn’t good news, however, for several Liverpool stars with Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz receiving the biggest downgrades of €20m. With all the new market values awarded, we have analysed which clubs have the most valuable squads in the Premier League.
The most valuable English Premier League squads
Despite their overall squad value dropping by 2.3%, Arsenal remain the most valuable club in the Premier League at €1.29b. Several players dropped in value including Bukayo Saka (-€10m), the Gunners’ most valuable player, but others moved in the opposite direction, like Saliba and Jurriën Timber. Manchester City remain in second place with Pep Guardiola’s squad’s valuation dropping slightly by 1.7% to €1.19b.
As the graphic above illustrates, Chelsea (€1.18b) rank third and Enzo Maresca’s men leapfrogged Liverpool after the update. Tottenham complete the top five with Manchester United (€719m) overtaking Newcastle United (€713m). Interestingly, two of the three promoted clubs still occupy the relegation places but Sunderland have soared into 16th to reflect their impressive return to the Premier League.
