The Premier League has become the epitome of globalisation in football. Not only is it the most watched league in world football, but players from all four corners of the world flock to the English top-flight. Currently in the 2025/26 season, 65 different nationalities are represented in the Premier League, but which foreign nations boast the highest number of players right now? Here at Transfermarkt, we have compiled a list of the countries with the most stars in the league right now.




Leading the way is France, with 40 players currently in Premier League squads across the division. The most valuable of which is Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitiké (€85 million). French players take up 10.3% of the foreign players currently plying their trade in the Premier League. In second position is actually the Netherlands - with 36 Dutch stars currently residing in the English top-flight. The first South American nation on the list, Brazil, takes third with 31 players. Spain, at the top of this list not so long ago, are now fourth with 21 stars. 



In fifth position come Germany, whom have 15 players in the Premier League this season. Argentina and Portugal share sixth with 14 players apiece. They are followed by Belgium in eighth with 12 representatives. Four nations then share ninth with Italy, Scotland, Sweden and Wales all having 11 Premier League players this term.
