October Premier League update

If you had told Mikel Arteta that Arsenal would have got through their first six fixtures and sat top of the Premier League table, he would have bitten your hand off. The Gunners went to Old Trafford, Anfield, and St James' Park, as well as hosting Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. But have come through that run one point ahead of Liverpool at the summit. The performances haven't been mesmerising, with some new signings still bedding in, but there is definitely the sense that there is far more depth at the Emirates this term.
It was a hugely busy summer at the North London club, as Arsenal splashed out €293.5 million on seven new signings, as well as bringing in defender Piero Hincapié on an initial loan. Arteta's team had the highest net spend (€283.2m) in the entire world during the transfer window. So with plenty of change at the Emirates, let's take a look at which players have gone up and down in market value in Transfermarkt’s latest October Premier League market value update.
Arsenal: market value analysis
In terms of the biggest upgrades, three Arsenal players received a +€10m increase, and each of them were new summer signings. Midfielder Martín Zubimendi moved from €60m to €70m to align with the fee paid for him and reward his solid start with the Gunners. Eberechi Eze went from €55m to €65m for the same reasons. Questions marks were raised over the €56m Arsenal paid for Noni Madueke, but he started electrically for Arteta's side before picking up an injury - he goes from €40m to €50m. Jurriën Timber has become known as Mr.Consistent, but he probably should be referred to as Mr.Slightlyaboveconsistent such is his form for the Gunners - he goes from €55m up to €60m.

Now to the downgrades, and as can be identified above, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri all suffered -€10m losses to take their new values to €140m, €45m and €45m respectively. Martinelli and Nwaneri have seen their game-time reduced, whilst Saka still remains key but injuries have held him back of late. There were -€7m downgrades for full-back Ben White and injured striker Gabriel Jesus, whilst club captain Martin Ødegaard went down from €85m to €80m due to injuries and lack of form.
