LaLiga update out now!

Hansi Flick enjoyed a remarkable debut season as Barcelona manager, leading the club to the LaLiga title and Copa del Rey glory. Barca regained dominance in Spain and they beat Real Madrid four times last season to assert their authority. Lamine Yamal continued his stratospheric rise, Robert Lewandowski rolled back the years with 42 goals and Raphinha enjoyed an incredible season to finish 5th in the Ballon d’Or.
The challenge for Flick will be to replicate that success this season in LaLiga but also improve on their shock Champions League exit to Inter Milan. Barca are amongst the favourites to win the competition this season and they sit top of LaLiga after seven games with 19 points from 21 available. The LaLiga market value update was released earlier today and Yamal remains the most valuable player in the world. But which players received the biggest upgrades or downgrades? Let’s find out!
Barcelona: Biggest winners and losers from market value update
In total, five Barcelona first-team players received upgrades and four stars received downgrades. Fermín López and Ferran Torres both received €10 million upgrades to their market value to reflect their impressive recent form. López has increased to €60m after displaying his immense talent at the start of the season but he’s currently sidelined with a muscle injury. Torres’ versatility is incredibly important to Flick as he can play across the frontline and he’s scored five goals in nine games. Eric García, Marc Bernal and Roony Bardghji are the three other players to receive upgrades.
Gavi received the biggest downgrade at Barcelona with his market value dropping by €20m to €40m with the Spaniard’s injury problems still limiting his ability to perform. Surprisingly, Marcus Rashford has also dropped by €10m in market value, despite impressing since joining on-loan from Manchester United. The England international has scored two goals and provided five assists with his form gradually improving as he adjusts to life in Spain. As the graphic below illustrates, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Lewandowski have also received downgrades.
