Goals at Real Madrid are written in French and pronounced Kylian Mbappé. The Frenchman was once again on form on Saturday night, when Los Blancos dispatched of Sevilla with a deserved 2-0 win in LaLiga. The 27-year-old - who recently became the joint most valuable player in the world on Transfermarkt - scored a late penalty to confirm Madrid's win to help ease the pressure on Xabi Alonso.

That now means that the Madrid No.9 has scored in all but six of Real Madrid's games this season, with his tally for the season 29 goals.. And when we couple that with his form in the second half of last season, it means Mbappé has levelled the record of most goals in a calendar year for Los Blancos, set by none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Since the start of 2025, Mbappé has scored 59 goals in 59 matches across all club competitions, putting him ahead of all other players in Europe's top five leagues. Such an impressive return not only places Mbappé above his peers, but it's also matched the record set by Ronaldo in the Spanish capital. As we can see below, Mbappé narrowly failed to surpas his idol but he levelled with his goal on Saturday night. Looking at Real Madrid's top scorers in a single year, Cristiano Ronaldo not only holds the record with 59 goals over the course of 12 months, but also has three other records in the top five.
