It's transfer window may be closed in Europe's top leagues, but the rumours continue to circulate as clubs plan out future moves. Teams are working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets and figuring out their budgets.



Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals. The rumour mill is still gathering pace and we've collated some of the biggest current transfer stories.

Liverpool have been given encouragement that Bayern Munich could sell Dayot Upamecano in January. The France international, 26, is out of contract in June 2026 and the Bavarian giants may be willing to sell for a cut-price fee to avoid losing him for nothing next summer. Chelsea are also believed to hold some interest in signing the centre-back.



Manchester City are monitoring FC Köln wonderkid Said El Mala, per Sport1. The 19-year-old has scored three goals from his first six matches and Europe's elite are keeping tabs, including City, Chelsea and Liverpool. The teenager is under contract until June 2030, however, so the German club are under no pressure to sell yet.



Everton boss David Moyes has admitted his admiration for Ivan Toney but insists he will work the strikers at his disposal. The England international, currently playing for Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, has been linked with a loan back to the Premier League ahead of the 2026 World Cup. But Moyes said: "I'm sure Ivan Toney would get linked with about 20 clubs, never mind our club, because he's such a good player," before adding: "We've got what we've got just now, and we want to develop them and make them better. But also we need results."
