As 2025 draws to its conclusion, it's time to look at back at which Premier League players have gained the most market value across the last 12 months. The latest Premier League market value update dropped on December 9, and gave us the opportunity to take a look at which stars plying their trade in the English top-flight were the biggest market value losers over the last calendar year. There have been some big decreases for some of the league's top stars as well as older players entering the twilights of their careers.
Since January 1 this year, no current Premier League player has lost more market value than Manchester City's Phil Foden. The Englishman has actually hit red-hot form again in recent weeks and is likely to go up again in March if this continues, but over the course of 2025, the 25-year-old saw his value slashed by -€60m from €140m to €80m. Second place goes to another Sky Blue in midfielder Rodri. After winning the 2024 Ballon d'Or and seeing his value hit €130m, age and injuries severely disrupted his 2025 and the Spaniard has lost -€55m in market value in the past 12 months to take the 29-year-old's new figure to just €75m.

Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard has had injury issues of his own and consistently poor form across 2025 - his value has decreased by -€35m. Man City's ageing midfielder Bernardo Silva is fourth with a -€33m decrease. Liverpool's mega-money signing Florian Wirtz is fifth having seen his value fall by -€30m across the year but it still remains at the high €110m. Tottenham's James Maddison has also suffered a - €30m decrease. Mohamed Salah (-€25m to €30m) Ben White (-€25m to €30m), Ollie Watkins (-€25m to €30m), and Gabriel Jesus (-€25m to €20m) complete the top 10.
