Transfermarkt recently released their latest market value updates for all the major leagues around the world after the 2024/25 season came to it's conclusion. Thousands of players across the globe had their valuations upgraded and downgraded based on a number of factors over the last few months. Transfermarkt’s market values are world-renowned and have been cited by some of the biggest football clubs on the planet. They are also regularly used by media organisations, agents, and players themselves across all four corners of the world.
Now that the season and market value updates are mainly complete, we can determine which clubs faired best and worst when it comes to squad market value over the course of the campaign. To find out which sides came out best, we have calculated the team's with the biggest squad market value increases since September 1, 2024, which was the day after last summer's transfer window closed. Form, transfers and other factors all play a part, so without further ado, let's find out which clubs gained the most value.
Which teams increased in squad market value across the 24/25 season?
Leading the way are LaLiga champions Barcelona who saw their market value rise by +€190 million since September of last year. Young superstar Lamine Yamal (new market value: €200m) alone rose by +€110m over the campaign and played a significant part in the Catalan side leading proceedings. Barca now boast a squad market value of €1.07 billion. In second place are Champions League winners PSG, who were rewarded for their superb campaign by rising by +€176m in value in the past nine months to €1.06b. Third position goes to Portuguese champions Sporting, who rose in squad value by +€118m this season to a club-record new total of €511m.
In fourth are Bundesliga outfit Frankfurt, who saw their squad value rise by +€107m despite losing forward Omar Marmoush in January. Serie A side Como FC are fifth, having seen their market value increase by +€82m. German team Mainz are sixth, with a +€76m squad value increase. Lille are the first Ligue 1 team on the list in seventh with a +€75m upgrade over the season. Turkish giants Galatasaray take eighth having risen by +€73m. Chelsea are the first Premier League side on the list, increasing by +€72m since September, whilst Belgian outfit Genk complete the top 10 with a +€68m upgrade.
