Italian giants Juventus have sacked their manager, Igor Tudor just eight games into the Serie A season, following the side's latest defeat to Lazio on Sunday evening. The Croatian joined the Italian club as Thiago Motta's replacement in March and boasted a record of just 1.58 points-per-game with the Old Lady. He did manage to steer Juve back into the Champions League places, but the 43-year-old has overseen an eight-match winless run in all competitions, which has left the club eighth in the Serie A table, and 25th in the Champions League league phase table.
A Juventus club statement read: "The club thanks Igor Tudor and his entire staff for their professionalism and dedication over the past few months and wishes them all the best for their future careers." They also added that Massimiliano Brambilla will take charge for their Serie A fixture against Udinese on Wednesday. The Old Lady are six points behind leaders Napoli, and have failed to win in their last five league matches. But who could replace Tudor as the next permanent boss? Transfermarkt have picked out five candidates who are currently available.
Five candidates to become the next Juventus manager
Zinédine Zidane
The legendary magician Zinédine Zidane hasn't had a job since he last left Real Madrid in 2021. The Frenchman won three Champions League titles in-a-row with Los Blancos during his first stint and could be tempted to return to management at another club where he is adored. Zidane won the Ballon d'Or when he was a Juventus player back in 1998 - could he now return in the dugout?
Roberto Mancini
Roberto Mancini hasn't managed in Serie A since the 2016/17 season with Inter Milan, but the 60-year-old has a superb CV, which includes winning Euro 2020 with Italy and winning the Premier League with Manchester City. His latest job was with the Saudi Arabia national team, but Juve may feel the Italian's experience could be what the club needs to steady the ship.
Edin Terzic
Another name being linked with the job is former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic. The German took the Bundesliga side to the Champions League final in 2024, but left the club after his team lost that match to Real Madrid and hasn't returned since. Still only 42-years-old, time is on his side, and Juventus could be the match to get his career back up and running.
Raffaele Palladino
According to reports in Italy, Raffaele Palladino is another name being considered by the Juventus hierarchy. He was previously in charge of Fiorentina, where he had an impressive record, but left the club at the end of last season. The 41-year-old is viewed as a promising young coach with an attacking philosophy, and his name has been linked to Juventus several times before.
Luciano Spalletti
Another name being strongly linked with the vacancy is Luciano Spalletti. The experienced 66-year-old was sacked by the Italian national team in June after a poor run of results, but has previously proved a wise appointment in the Serie A after winning the Serie A title with Napoli in the 2022/23 season.
