Form is often hot and cold in football, and in the cauldron of the Premier League it's difficult to remain at the top. For some players though they can find confidence and have a purple patch for a short period. This can often culminate in winning the coveted Premier League Player of the Month award. The accolade first began being handed out in the 1994 season, and is available for every month in which English top-flight games are played.
There are eight players nominated to win the latest award for December 2025: Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Rayan Cherki (Manchester City), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds), Harry Wilson (Fulham), and Hugo Ekitiké (Liverpool). Norwegian goal machine Haaland is already vying to win the award for a fifth time. Down the years, there have been a number of players who have won it just once, but which stars have a collection of the awards? Here at Transfermarkt, we have calculated the list of the players with the most Premier League Player of the Month award down the years.
Players with the most Premier League POTM awards
Leading the way are three players who have each bagged the Premier League Player of the Month award seven times. Former Tottenham striker Harry Kane, former Man City striker Sergio Agüero and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah lead the charts. There are then two players who have picked up the award six times in ex-Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and former Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo.

There are then three players with five awards: former Everton and Man United striker Wayne Rooney, former Arsenal and Man United striker Robin van Persie, and current Red Devils captain Bruno Fernandes. We then see as many nine players who have won the award four times, including Haaland who could climb up the list further if he is victorious in the latest vote.
