At the U21 European Championships this summer, not many players came out of the tournament better than Liverpool's Harvey Elliott. England U21 lifted the trophy for the second consecutive time, as Elliott scored five goals and picked up the Player of the Tournament award. He started all six games at the Euros, but it was different story at club football last season. He struggled for game-time. Elliott started just two Premier League matches last season for Arne Slot's champions, and he is expected to now leave Anfield this summer in pursuit of regular minutes.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool have set a demanding asking price for Elliott, as interest builds due to his great performances for England U21s. The Reds reportedly want €46.5m+ with a buy-back option included, or as much as €58m+ without. The 22-year-old is thought to be eyeing regular football at an elite level and could even look to go abroad. Liverpool have already spent €213.7m on Florian Wirtz (€125m), Milos Kerkez (€46.9m) and Jeremie Frimpong (€40m) this summer, so would likely be hoping to recoup some funds this transfer window. Here at Transfermarkt, we have picked out five clubs who could sign Elliott this summer.

Five clubs who could sign Harvey Elliott this summer

RB Leipzig

One of the current favourites for Elliott's signature are actually Bundesliga side RB Leipzig. The Athletic reported that the German team are among the clubs interested, but it is not clear whether Leipzig would be pursuing a loan or a permanent move. Any offer would likely also be contingent upon sales taking place first, including of midfielder Xavi Simons, who has asked to leave the club, and potentially striker Benjamin Sesko, who is a target for Arsenal. However, RB Leipzig missed out on European football for the first time since 2016 last season, so would be unable to offer Elliott the chance to shine on that stage.

Newcastle

Another club heavily linked with Elliott this summer have been Newcastle United. The Magpies are reportedly on the hunt for a right-winger, and have already had a bid rejected for Nottingham Forest's Anthony Elanga. Eddie Howe is supposedly a big admirer of Elliott, and according to TalkSPORT, Newcastle are one of the clubs with serious interest in the 22-year-old attacker. The north east club are expected to have money to spend this summer, and Elliott could help make up a fierce-looking attacking trio of himself, Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon.

West Ham

Another Premier League side who have been linked with Elliot are West Ham. The Mail reported that the Hammers have identified the Liverpool man as a target this summer. Graham Potter's team are expected to potentially lose attacker Mohamed Kudus this transfer window, with Tottenham currently the front-runners for the Ghanian - this would free up funds and a position in West Ham's attack that could potentially be filled by Elliot. Although, once again no European football could be a stumbling block.

Borussia Dortmund

Back to the Bundesliga and Borussia Dortmund could be in the hunt for a player to bolster their attack, with winger Jamie Gittens closing in on a big money move to Chelsea. The German giants could offer Elliott Champions League football, and a clear path to the top. In recent years, Dortmund have helped accelerate the careers of Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham, and have just signed another Englishman in Jobe Bellingham this summer. Could Elliot join his compatriot at Signal Iduna Park?

Brighton

Brighton have proved themselves to be very astute in the transfer market in the last decade, and may just view the opportunity to sign Elliott as too good to miss. The Seagulls just missed out on European football last season, but with a young competitive squad could well challenge for those places next term. However, one stumbling block to the signing of Elliott could come in the vast number of young talents Brighton already have in attacking positions.
