A young talent breaking through is often one of the most exciting sights in football. Fearless youngsters can light up the game and have supporters filled with anticipation about what's to come in the future. With this in mind, here at Transfermarkt, we have calculated the 20 youngest players to get on the pitch in the top-five leagues last season. Plenty of future stars to watch out for. Remember the names.
The 20 youngest players in the top-5 leagues last season
Leading the way as the youngest player to get minutes in Europe's top-five leagues last term is Leicester's talented winger Jeremy Monga. He made his debut in the Premier League at just 15 years and eight months old, making him six months younger than the second-youngest player. In second is Saint-Étienne player Djylian N'Guessan, who played in Ligue 1 at 16 years and four months old. In third position is PSG's Ibrahim Mbaye, who featured in the French top-flight when he was 16 years and six months old. He is followed by Honest Anahor of Genoa in fourth, having played in Serie A at 16 years and seven months old.
In fifth is AC Milan wonderkid Francesco Camarda, who featured in the Italian top-flight when he was 16 years and seven months old. Sixth goes to another Leicester youngster in Jake Evans, who played in the Premier League at 16 years and seven months old. Then it's the first LaLiga player on the list in Valencia's David Otorbi, who played when he was 16 years and 10 months old. Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi is eighth, after playing at 16 years and 10 months old. Ninth goes to RB Leipzig's Faik Sakar, who featured in the Bundesliga at 16 years and 10 months old, whilst Empoli's Thomas Campaniello completes the top 10, having played in Serie A at 16 years and 11 months old.
