Brace against Chelsea

Incredibly, Harry Kane is still doubted by some people. But he continues to deliver. As Bayern Munich beat Chelsea 3-1 in their opening Champions League league phase victory, the Englishman was decisive yet again. He won a first-half penalty, which he then emphatically converted, before neatly firing an excellent finish into the bottom corner after the break. His goalscoring record for the Bavarians has been frightening. And in the big European games he has stood up too. He now has 42 Champions League goals, making him the joint 19th top scorer in the competition's history.
Since Kane joined the Bundesliga side in the summer of 2023, no player has scored more Champions League goals than the 32 year old. Considering Bayern crashed out in the quarter-finals last season, plus the fact he is competing with Europe's elite finishers, that is some record. Kane has scored 21 goals in 25 Champions League games for the German side. He continues to be Europe's most prolific goalscorer, but which other stars feature in the top 10 since Kane traded Tottenham for Bayern?
The most Champions League goals scored since 2023/24
Kane is now four goals ahead of second place, which goes to Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappé. The Frenchman has scored 17 goals in 27 Champions League matches for both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid. Third goes to Barcelona's Brazilian attacker Raphinha, who has 16 goals in 21 European games for Barca. He is followed by Erling Haaland in fourth - the big Norwegian has 14 goals in 18 Champions League games across the past two seasons.
Fifth place goes to Robert Lewandowski - the Polish forward has 14 goals in 22 Champions League games since the start of the 2023/24 campaign. In sixth is Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior, with 14 goals in 23 matches. Seventh goes to Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy with 13 goals in 15 games for the Bundesliga side. The Atlético Madrid duo of Julián Alvarez (12 goals) and Antoine Griezmann (12 goals), and Inter Milan's Lautaro Martínez (11 goals) complete the top 10.
