It's transfer deadline day for the majority of top leagues and many sides are still on the hunt for new signings. The biggest clubs in European football and clubs across the continent are still midway through their plans for next season. Teams are working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets and figuring out their budgets.

Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals. A plethora of players will become available in the summer where clubs famously have more money to spend and aren't as restricted by financial fair play rules. The rumour mill is beginning to pick up pace and we've collated some of the biggest current transfer stories.

Today's biggest transfer stories

Antony returned to Real Betis to a heroes welcome but he could have joined Bayern Munich instead. The Bundesliga giants made contract with Manchester United over a last-minute move with the Brazilian confirming their interest. "I spoke with Bayern," Antony confirmed. "I don’t know if it was €7m (salary), but I said I had Betis’s word and that it was 95% certain and that I would respect my word."

Real Madrid could enter the race to sign Marc Guehi on a free transfer next summer. The England international underwent a medical with Liverpool on deadline day before Crystal Palace blocked the transfer last minute. Guehi's contract expires this summer and Real Madrid could rival Liverpool for his signature.

Manchester United are reportedly open to selling Andre Onana before the Turkish and Saudi Arabia transfer windows close. United signed Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp on deadline day with Ruben Amorim reportedly unhappy with Onana.
