Rob Tankiewicz has broken Aaron Ramsey's long-standing record to become Cardiff City's youngest player of all time.

Midfielder Tankiewicz started in Tuesday's EFL Trophy match against Newport County at the age of 16 years and 117 days.

Wales captain Ramsey, who would go on to play for the likes of Arsenal and Juventus, made his Cardiff debut at 16 years and 123 days old against Hull City in April 2007.

That broke a much longer-standing, 42-year record belonging to John Toshack, who made his first appearance for the Bluebirds aged 16 years and 236 days in 1965, scoring on his debut against Leyton Orient.
