The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) at the end of 2025 closed green/advanced 2.68 points or 0.03 percent to 8,646.94. Stock trading will reopen on Friday, January 2, 2026.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) temporarily halted trading on the trading system at 1:43 p.m. Jakarta Automated Trading System (JATS), after the Combined Stock Price Index (IHSG) fell by 8 percent.
In second-session trading at 13:43 WIB in Jakarta, Wednesday (28/1/2026), IHSG recorded a decline of 718.44 points or 8.00 percent to 8,261.78. Meanwhile, the group of 45 flagship stocks or LQ45 Index fell 67.70 points or 7.73 percent to 808.41.
Trading will resume around 14.13 JATS time without changing the trading schedule. Trading in the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) was temporarily halted after dropping 8 percent at 8,261. The terms of the current trading halt are as follows:
In the event of a decrease in IHSG within the same day of the Exchange, the Exchange performs the following actions:
- Trading halts for 30 minutes when IHSG declines by more than 8 percent.
- Trading halts for 30 minutes when IHSG continues to decline by more than 15 percent.
- Trading is suspended if IHSG suffers a further decline of more than 20 percent with the following conditions: until the end of the trading session; or more than one trading session after the approval or order of the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
The adjustment to the terms of implementation of the trading halt was made as an effort by the BEI to provide investors with more liquidity space in determining investment strategies taking into account the available information.
The conditions for the implementation of trading halt are set out in the Decree of the Directors of BEI dated April 8, 2025 Number KEP-00002/BEI/04-2025 on Amendments to the Guidance on Handling Continuity of Trading on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Emergency Conditions and Number KEP-00003/BEI/04-2025 on Regulation Number II-A on Trading in Equity Securities.
